Reminder: Dues for the Spring semester is $5. This can be given to either Carlie or Maghan. Those who have paid for this semester will appear on the members page.
Career Night will be Thursday, 3/26 at 6:30pm in the map room. We're still trying to get people to represent different parts of the industry, and so far we have Mark Grammatico from True Wind, John Quinlan from the NWS, and Brian Frugis representing Accuweather as the representatives. There will also be free pizza.
We raised $1068 with the Yankee Candle fund raiser! We get about 40% of that for the AMS (before taxes).
The D.C. trip has been cancelled. In its place, we are looking at other possible events. Ideas: Laser tag, bowling, and the Turning Stone Casino.
There is an AMS conference in Omaha, NE 6/1-6/5 for those interested in attending.
Don't forget to sign up as a student member of the AMS! Just $20 per year as a student will not only get you into a prestigious national network, but you'll also receive discounts on books and papers, and you will automatically have a subscription to BAMS, the monthly AMS bulletin.
