Check out the attached 12 h
NAM forecast sounding and hodograph for ~32.5 N and 96.0 W (just ESE of
DFW) for 0000 UTC 27 Apr 2011. I surfed
twisterdata.com
and generated the plots when I thought I was in the right location
(after a lot of "shear" effort, of course). You might say that I had to
go to "great lengths" to find such a good hodograph.
The 0-6 km shear value is > 30 m/s. Looks to be a big time "stretch"
for someone later.
Paging the CAPEd Crusader.......
To be determined soon if the Atm 401-501 kiddies are paying attention on day 3 of the class SVR/QPF forecasting exercise.
Take care.
