         for "scientific and technical discoveries that have constituted a major contribution to the advancement of weather modification".

In 1997 Vonnegut was awarded (posthumously) the Ig Nobel Prize in Meteorology
         for his revealing report, "Chicken Plucking as Measure of Tornado Wind Speed."
