Discussion Homepage for Tropical Storm Alberto (2006)

Tropical Storm Alberto (2006)

Tropical Storm Alberto is the first named storm of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season. NHC began warning on the storm as a depression in the Carribean at 1200 UTC 10 June; however, the initiation of the MCV that formed the incipient vortex appears to have had its origins over Honduras early on 9 June. The degree to which an upper-level trough had a role in the development and possible tropical transition of the system is the main focus of this discussion.

Satellite Imagery

A set of satellite images has been collected to assist with the evaluation of the early stages of Tropical Storm Alberto's lifecycle. These images have been provided by the Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey, California and reproduced from their ephemeral image archive.
