I am a third-year NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University at Albany, SUNY under Dr. Lance Bosart and Dr. Daniel Keyser. I received my Ph.D. in 2012 at The Florida State University under Dr. Robert Hart. My dissertation examined the local and large scale impacts of Western North Pacific tropical cyclones on their atmospheric and oceanic environments. My career aspirations include becoming a professor at a university following the end of my tenure as a postdoctoral fellow. My research interests are as follows:

  • The role of tropical cyclones in the climate

  • Tropical cyclone fidelity within reanalysis datasets

  • Factors determining the role of tropical cyclone size

  • The initiation of the Madden-Julian Oscillation

  • Tropical-extratropical interactions
