I love the weather, and have long been a student of it.

To see some animations of atlantic water vapor(courtesy of NRL Monterrey) click here. Here is a visible image of East Pacific Hurricane Linda. Here is one from hurricane Luis back in 1995. I also have added a recent visible and infrared images of hurricane Mitch near its most intense point(pressure ~906mb sustained winds ~180mph). This hurricane was one of the deepest storms ever in the Atlantic basin. Currently, Mitch is just a shadow of its former self due to two major factors: its proximity to land and high terrain, and its slow motion which enhances upwelling of cooler water from deep below the surface.
