Initiation's Day

The following figure show mean and standard deviation of the number of days that shift in the convection phase occurs from active to inactive and the opposite for OLR fitltered for 20-90 days.

This figures is show the same as above except that OLR is filtered temporaraly and also spatailly.

MJO index

The following figure show scatter plot for the MJO events that are larger than one standard deviation of the first EOF based on the 20-90 fitlered OLR anomaly and the red circle show the local maximum among those events that are larger than the one standard deivation

(top) The figures below show composite of the 20-90 days filtered OLR based on all MJO events larger than one standard devaion of the first PC and local maximum, (bottom) show the same at except that all events larger than the standard deviation of the PC1

(top) Composites of the 20-90 days fitered OLR, (middle) Composite of the 20-90 days and 1-10 wavenumbers filtered OLR, (bottom) composite of the OLR anomaly based on MJO events largers than 1PC and are local maximum.
