I am
currently a second year graduate student and
working as a teaching assistant for the
Department of Atmospheric and Environmental
Science at the University of Albany. Currently,
under the supervision of Dr. Vince Idone, I
grade homework assignments and hold office hours
for his ATM 321 course. I also
proctor tests when needed for ATM 100. During my
academic career at the University at Albany, my
goals are to improve upon my research skills, to
receive the chance to teach, and of course, to
learn more about the atmospheric sciences.
My research
is under the direction of Dr. Lance Bosart
and Dr. Dan Keyser. The topic of my thesis
concerns analyzing inland tropical cyclone
(TC)-midlatitude jet interactions. More
specifically, I will be documenting the extreme
inland flooding associated with TC Camille
(1969) and the inland reintensification of TC
Danny (1997). This topic is part of
collaborative research with NCEP personnel to
explore research topics of direct interest and
applicability to NCEP forecast operations.
In general, my
research interests include studies related
to meso- and synoptic-scale dynamics. More
specifically, I am also interested in
winter storm characteristics and
forecasting issues with mixed
precipitation events.

the man sound in body and serene of mind there is no
such thing as bad weather; every day has its beauty,
and storms which whip the blood do but make it pulse
more vigorously." ~George Gissing, "Winter," The
