Welcome to my home page!

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate working under the advisement of Dr. Lance Bosart in the Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences at the University at Albany/SUNY. My research interests cover a broad range of scales - planetary, synoptic, and meso - and phenomena. Up to this point, I have worked on research problems involving continental mesoscale convective systems and supercells, tropical cyclones, heat waves, subtropical and midlatitude anticyclones, upper-tropospheric troughs, polar lows, cold surges, and winter storms. Current research problems include observational and modeling studies diagnosing environmental influences on tropical cyclone genesis pathway, operational utility of mesoscale diagnostics calculated with the nondivergent wind, observational studies of predecessor rain events, modeling studies of polar lows in the lee of the Alps over the Mediterranean Sea, and assessing the relevant physical and dynamical processes important in (1) the development of a surface cyclonic circulation beneath mid-tropospheric continental MCVs and (2) the reintensification of tropical disturbances over land.
