Lance Bosart Honored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science

The Department is very proud to announce that Distinguished Professor Lance Bosart has just been elected to the rank of AAAS Fellow.

Each year the AAAS Council elects members whose “efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished”. The honor of being elected began in 1874 and is acknowledged with a certificate and rosette that will be presented during the Association’s annual meeting that will take place in Chicago on Saturday, February 15th.

Lance is being honored for excellence in meteorological research and in interactions with operational forecasters, as well as for educating an entire generation of researchers.
