ATM 317: Dynamic Meteorology II
The objective of this class is to apply the governing equations of the atmosphere to describe and understand synoptic- to planetary-scale phenomena, including vertical motion, jet streaks, and the frontal cyclone, through the introduction of vorticity, quasigeostrophic balance, and potential vorticity.
