# Week 4 overview

## Learning Objectives:
1. Geoscientific Python Software Ecosystem Foundational Packages:

   - Cartopy: Natural Earth Shapefiles
   - Pandas

## Learning and Participation Activities with Due Dates (Monday, Mon. Sep. 19, Noon EDT):
1. Cartopy / Pandas notebooks

   a. `cd` to your `/spare11/atm533/<NetID>` directory

   b. Clone Kevin's week4 folder: 
      `git clone /spare11/atm533/ktyle/week4`

   c. Open up a JupyterLab session on [Turing](https://turing.atmos.albany.edu:8000)

   d. Browse to your atm533/week4 directory

   e. Work through the notebooks. The `02_CartopyShapereader` notebook will be a useful resource for the HW1 Australian provincial task.

   f. Additional resources will be communicated during the week via the Week 4 Forum.
