About Me

I was born and raised on Long Island. As a child I loved sports and fishing. After graduating from Sachem HS, I came up to SUNY Albany in 1981 and earned my BS in Atmospheric Science in 1985. I then completed my Master's degree with John Molinari in 1988. My thesis research examined the interaction of Hurricane Elena(1985) with a mid latitude trough and Elena's subsequent rapid intensification. This research eventually spawned three papers. After graduation, I continued working with John in various aspects of Tropical meteorology ranging from Hurricane intensificaton to characteristics of the West Pacific monsoon trough. Presently, I have been a co-author on over 25 peer-reviewed papers.

I have been married to my lovely wife Sandra for over 20years and have two daughters, Genevieve and Gabrielle. We currently have two pet rabbits and a goldfish residing in our home as well. Living in upstate NY allows me to take advantage of the outdoors by hiking and fishing. Although I do not play sports anymore, I still love baseball follow the Yankees as well as participate in a virtual league: The TML .
