6. Strained portion of Jalhari granite within Airl-Gah/Diamir Shear Zone, Diamir Valley: In this outcrop photo, a large variety of granitic gneiss occurs. It is none the less representative of the degree of variation observed throughout the Jalhari Granite. These variations are the result of the complex interplay of (1) original granite texture and composition (e.g., local restitic component), (2) strain (syn- to post-plutonism), and (3) late metasomatic processes that have occurred during the protracted synkinematic emplacement of the Jalhari granite (~3-9 Ma).
