I have been able to trace back my passion for weather, and especially hurricanes, to August 24, 1992. It was on this day that the neighborhood I grew up in was ravaged by the category-5 winds of Hurricane Andrew. My very first memories are those of workers attempting to repair my family's home, following the storm. As the picture above attempts to depict, southern Miami-Dade County was left in chaos. After experiencing that as a small child, I have always been fascinated by tropical cyclones and have wanted to know how such a phenomenon could ever become so destructive.

In order to persue this interest, I attented Florida International University (FIU) and received my B.S. in Geosciences/Atmospheric Science in April 2013. Following the completion of my degree, I moved to Albany, NY, where I now am working toward my Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science under the advisement of Drs. Brian Tang and Kristen Corbosiero. My past and present research is described in more detail here.

I recently married my best friend, Molly. In addition to spending time with my wife, family, and friends, I enjoy following everyday weather, teaching, playing and watching sports, and learning more about how this wonderful world works!
