Learning Objectives:

  1. Geoscientific Python Software Ecosystem Foundational Packages:

    • Cartopy: Natural Earth Shapefiles

    • Pandas

Learning and Participation Activities with Due Dates (Monday, Mon. Sep. 19, Noon EDT):

  1. Cartopy / Pandas notebooks

    a. cd to your /spare11/atm533/<NetID> directory

    b. Clone Kevin’s week4 folder: git clone /spare11/atm533/ktyle/week4

    c. Open up a JupyterLab session on Turing

    d. Browse to your atm533/week4 directory

    e. Work through the notebooks. The 02_CartopyShapereader notebook will be a useful resource for the HW1 Australian provincial task.

    f. Additional resources will be communicated during the week via the Week 4 Forum.

  2. Homework 1 was assigned last Thursday 9/8, and is due Monday 9/19.

  3. Post any questions you have on the Week 4 and/or HW1 threads on the Blackboard Class Community Forum.
